About St Ann's Religious Education
The Religious Education Program is designed to help form our youth in prayer, virtue and the life of the Church. It is our hope that these ideals will enhance each child’s experience in the program, maximize their learning, and, above all else, allow for true encounters with Christ’s love.

Requirements
Mass Attendance: All students are expected to attend weekly Mass. Whatever we teach in the classroom will have little meaning if your family is not actively practicing the faith at home. Building a strong foundation in their faith is the most important and meaningful gift you pass on to your child. Children notice by our words and our actions how much (or how little) our faith means to us. We ask all parents to be good examples of discipleship at home.
Class Attendance: Children in a sacramental program are only permitted to miss three classes!
Few exceptions will be allowed. If your child misses more than three classes, they may need to repeat the year.

Service Projects: Saint Ann’s Catechism students learn not only about the Catholic religion but about how to live a life that improves the world around them. They learn how their actions have a direct impact on their family, friends, school, parish, and the community they live in. By completing service projects, they learn that with their love, compassion, and time they can make a difference in the lives of others.
Students receiving Communion and Confirmation are required to have 20 service hours. Most of these hours are required to be arranged and completed by the student and their parents/guardians. The Religious Education program will conduct 2 service projects with the entire group but these projects will only account for about 4 hours. Service project hours must be completed prior to receiving Communion or Confirmation.

They should choose a saint that best fits their personality and interests. Find traits that best fit them as a person or focuses on a virtue they need help with. What are your child's ambitions in life? Is there a saint that focuses on their career choices? Finally, when a saint is chosen, they should pray to that saint to intervene on their behalf and to help them make positive moral choices. Ask them to be a powerful guide in their spiritual life.
